Hydrangea arborescens Abetwo, sold as Incrediball and Strong Annabelle, is a vigorous deciduous shrub with an upright mounded habit and strong sturdy stems. Current garden records place mature plants at about 122 to 152 centimeters high and wide.
Large opposite ovate leaves are dark green and serrated. Huge terminal mophead-type panicles reach about 28 centimeters across in the patent record. Their numerous sterile flowers emerge lime green, mature to pure white, and later age green. Flowering continues through summer, and the patent describes a light pleasant fragrance.
Grow in partial shade or full sun where clay, loam, or sand remains consistently moist but well drained. The cultivar is intolerant of drought. Prune stems back by about one-third as growth begins in early spring. Strong stems improve rain tolerance, but the patent establishes no resistance to common Hydrangea pests or pathogens.
